Fuel Cell & Battery Hose
The Siligiene® lined silicone hose has been specifically developed to minimise the risk of contaminating the fluid or air carried by the hose with trace-level extractable materials found in conventional silicones, such as siloxanes, while still providing all the service benefits expected from Silflex silicone hoses.
It is suitable for a wide range of chemical fluid and gas transfer applications where contamination risk must be reduced. It also meets the demanding requirements of motorsport, high-performance bikes and cars, bus, truck and rail industries, and is equally suitable for use in static generator applications.
Engineering Options
Wire Reinforcement
A wire helix between the plies helps to prevent collapse in negative pressure conditions.
Part Marking
Part marking with Silflex or customer logos and part numbers assists with product identification and traceability.
Anti Abrasion Sleeves
Anti Abrasion Sleeves to protect against localised abrasion.
Location Marking
Marks can be added to the hose to specify where components are to be placed such as clips helping speed up installation.
Specialist Silicones
High temperature, fire retardant silicone to BS 6853. Food & Drug and Water Council approved materials are also available.
Construction
The hose features a liner of Siligiene® translucent silicone, overlaid with plies of silicone reinforced with polyester fabric. The number of plies varies depending on the working pressure, bore size, and required wall thickness. A galvanised steel wire helix can also be incorporated—buried between the plies so it is not exposed on either the inside or outside of the hose—for use in high- or negative-pressure applications, or where enhanced flexibility is needed. Additionally, the hoses can be supplied with either convoluted or castellated walls if required.

The FKM/Viton Profuel Liner is Silflex’s advanced solution for fuel and oil applications where both permeation resistance and long service life are critical. Developed specifically with the needs of modern engines and fuel systems, it provides a robust internal barrier without sacrificing the flexibility and heat resistance of silicone.
